Life After Treament
Continuing Care is critical to the treatment process as it provides a forum for Adult and Adolescent IOP patients to move from the intensive phase to “life after treatment”. Throughout Continuing Care, program participants expand upon and deepen the gains made during the intensive phase and continue to address issues highlighted in their treatment plan. In addition, the Dilworth Center provides Continuing Care and Extended Care services for individuals who have completed residential treatment programs. Out-of-State facilities such as the Hazelden Foundation, the Caron Foundation or Fellowship Hall regularly refer patients to our Continuing Care and Extended Care Programs. These Programs can be individualized to meet the varying needs of the patients. As examples, the Center provides a unique one-year program for nurses as required by the NC Board of Nursing and a three-year program for pilots as required by the Federal Aviation Administration. Research has shown that long-term recovery rates are maximized by participation in these Continuing Care and Extended Care Programs.
