Workshop Overview
Analysis of what makes professional evaluations and treatment different, particularly for physicians and pilots. Emphasis will be on how these patients are at higher/different risk than the general population, differentiations in use patterns, the denial structure of these individuals, unique elements of evaluation/diagnosis, and what makes them more successful than others long-term.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER


Marc Myer MD, MBA, FASAM
Medical Director of Cirque Lodge
Marc is originally from International Falls, Minnesota and relocated to Utah in 2026. He began his medical career in family medicine in 2003 and has specialized in addiction medicine since 2011. Marc previously served as Medical Director and Director of the Healthcare Professionals Program at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation until 2018, after which he returned to graduate school to earn his MBA. Most recently, he practiced rural family medicine in Minnesota, continuing to integrate addiction treatment into his clinical work. At Cirque Lodge, Marc serves as Medical Director and Director of the Healthcare Professionals Program, where he brings together extensive clinical training and personal experience to help guide individuals suffering from addiction toward recovery. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from St. Olaf College, his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wisconsin, and his Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Marc is board-certified in family medicine and preventive medicine with a subspecialty in addiction medicine and is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

We have been approved by the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB) for approval of 2 Substance Abuse Specific credits, including specialty EBT (Evidence-Based Treatment) and PSY (Psychopathology). Completion of a short, post-workshop electronic survey will be required to receive your certificate.
