Intern in the Spotlight

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Dilworth Center family — Intern, Lindsay Boyd!

Lindsay Boyd is completing her last task as an undergraduate student at East Carolina University, as an intern at Dilworth Center this summer. She will graduate with a degree in Rehabilitation Services with a minor in Drug and Alcohol Studies. Lindsay shared that she feels very blessed to be able to be a part of the Dilworth team. Her goal for the next year is to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to begin her master’s in social work. She plans to work her way into the journey of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Lindsay plans to stay in the field of substance abuse, while obtaining her masters.

Lindsay explained that she has always had a strong passion for working with others. She wants to be able to serve the addicted population by aiding them with overcoming what they commonly fear most – living sober. Lindsay stated, “Recovery is in no way an easy process, but with honesty, social supports, and working the 12-steps, it is possible to live a well-rounded, sober life.

“Dilworth Center is more than a treatment facility. It is a family that holds a strong passion for serving patients facing addiction.” – Dilworth Center Intern, Lindsay Boyd
