Adolescent / Teenage
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Adolescence is defined by change.
While teens struggle to adjust, they are vulnerable to developing mental health conditions and Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
At Dilworth Center
We offer a specialized Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) tailored to meet the unique needs of teenagers. Our Program provides an effective and compassionate approach to treating teens, helping them achieve lasting recovery and mental well-being.
Our Adolescent IOP is designed to deliver high-quality care with minimal disruption to a teen’s education and daily life. It offers the perfect balance, allowing high school students to continue their academic pursuits while receiving the intensive support they need. This program is ideal for adolescents transitioning from more intensive treatment settings such as residential or inpatient rehabilitation centers, as well as those who are new to treatment.
Defining Recovery
What is Adolescent IOP?
Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a specialized treatment plan designed for high-school-student-aged patients and young adults, who require a higher level of care with minimal disruptions to their education. This program is recommended for adolescents transitioning from more intensive programs such as residential and inpatient rehabilitation centers, partial hospitalization, or no prior treatment experience.
Is It Also Mental Health?
Adolescents suffering from substance use disorder often experience a co-occurring mental health condition. By taking a holistic approach to mental health and Substance Use Disorder, we can treat both afflictions on parallel paths.

Teen years are full of change, and the choices made now can shape the future. Recovery isn’t just for adults—starting early can make all the difference. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to turn things around. Whether you’re looking for help for yourself or someone you care about, a life free from drugs and alcohol is possible at any age.
The Dilworth Center Difference
Understanding Teen Substance Use: Assessments and Support
If you’re concerned about your teenager, whether it be mental health or substance use, we offer a comprehensive assessment process designed to provide clarity and support. This involves two separate sessions: one dedicated to meeting with your family and another focused on your adolescent. A master’s-level clinician will thoroughly evaluate substance use patterns and any co-occurring mental health concerns. This collaborative approach ensures a personalized treatment plan tailored to your teen’s specific needs.
Recognizing that each family’s situation is unique, our goal is to guide you toward the most appropriate resources, even if that means referring you to services other than Dilworth Center.
Family Support
To help create a healthier support system outside the program, we offer a family support program to help loved ones understand and navigate the recovery journey. This program takes place on parallel paths with the patient’s addiction treatment.
Through educational workshops, support groups, and counseling, families gain tools to rebuild trust, improve communication, and support long-term recovery. By actively participating, loved ones can create a more stable and understanding environment, reinforcing the foundation for lasting change.

Prioritizing Recovery Without Putting Life on Hold
At Dilworth Center, we believe that putting recovery first is essential—but that doesn’t mean putting life on pause. Our structured night and weekend treatment options allow individuals to fully commit to their recovery while continuing to meet work, school, and personal responsibilities. It’s a focused, results-driven approach designed to minimize disruption without compromising the quality or intensity of care.
