ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Meghan Bohlman, LPC, LCDC, EMDR-Trained

Clinical Director, Burning Tree

Originally from Dallas, Texas, Meghan is a former Division I soccer athlete who studied at Northwestern State University in Louisiana, earning dual degrees in Psychology and Addiction Studies. She furthered her education at the University of Denver, obtaining a Master’s in International Disaster Psychology in 2014. Her graduate work, focusing on trauma, led to international and domestic roles, including research publication, working with refugees and asylum seekers, and conducting PTSD assessments in ICE Facilities.

After her graduate studies, Meghan began her career in adolescent treatment, which marked her introduction to the treatment field. She returned to Dallas in Fall 2016 and joined Burning Tree as a counselor in early 2017. Her role expanded quickly; she pursued EMDR training and began facilitating sessions. In March 2020, she was appointed Clinical Director, a role she holds to this day, overseeing EMDR and equine therapy, managing a caseload, co-facilitating the Family Program, and participating in the Aftercare Program.

Joining Burning Tree also initiated Meghan’s journey with Al-Anon and embracing the 12 steps, which she credits for enhancing her effectiveness in working with addicts and alcoholics. Outside of her professional life, Meghan enjoys CrossFit, puzzles, and spending time outdoors.
