Dilworth Kids Program

Dilworth Kids Program

Addiction is a family disease, meaning it affects even the youngest of family members.

Addiction is a family disease, meaning it affects even the youngest of family members.

We believe families need healing and we understand that assisting everyone in the family is essential to a patient’s ability to achieve long-term recovery.

The Dilworth Kids Program allows children to express their concerns about a parent’s addiction and to learn about the disease of addiction in a “kid friendly” way.

What to Expect

Dilworth Center Kids Program:

  • Provides a 5-week rotation of age-appropriate activities and is led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Is designed to provide a curriculum that helps children understand the disease of addiction and how it impacts the family.
  • Offers tools to help children cope and live a healthy and productive life – even if their family member does not get well.
  • Creates a safe, confidential space for children to share their feelings and concerns with a group of understanding peers.
  • Helps children identify feelings and teaches them coping strategies.

*This program is contingent upon adequate participant demand. Specific dates and times are determined quarterly.
