Our program offers a structured and phased approach over 16 weeks, focusing on relapse prevention, mental health, and sustainable sober living. One of the significant advantages of IOP is its flexibility; you can continue to work, go to school, and meet your obligations while attending treatment sessions in the evening. This allows you to integrate recovery into your daily routine without an unrealistic separation from the stressors of everyday life. Two Levels of Addiction Treatment

Level I treatment sessions have two primary components: educational lectures and group therapy sessions. This process both instructs and involves the patient in the recovery process.

Level II provides an opportunity for patients to capitalize on the gains made during Level I, continue to work on issues derived from their treatment plans, and learn relapse prevention strategies.

Following a thorough assessment, a preliminary treatment plan is developed and the patient is given an orientation to the treatment process.

Adult IOP Core Program Components:

Disease Education

The program features over 24 speakers and interactive presentations that provide a detailed description of the dynamics of addiction and the recovery process. Patients will learn about the disease of addiction, post-acute withdrawal, how to enjoy being in recovery, the impact of addiction on family systems, and other related recovery topics.

Adult Family Program

Family participation in treatment is encouraged and, at times, required. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, family members and significant others participate in education and group therapy. Additionally, involvement in Al-Anon or Nar-Anon is strongly encouraged.

12 Step Groups

We know that 12-step meeting participation, in addition to treatment attendance, greatly improves outcomes. Twelve-step groups are a core part of recovery, and active participation in these programs is an essential and critical component of ongoing recovery. Each patient’s individualized treatment plan determines the frequency of meeting attendance.

Mental Health

We take mental health conditions very seriously. Our medical director is board-certified in addiction psychiatry and recognized throughout the industry for his treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. He is available to patients when needed.

Group Therapy

Group therapy sessions provide a climate for bonding with other recovering people. New learning and behaviors are practiced, and feelings are shared. Group therapy allows patients and family members to realize they are not alone in their struggles with substance abuse disorder.

One-On-One Counseling

Individual counseling sessions are utilized during the treatment process, as needed. As patients move through the treatment process, they are evaluated for the best fit and then paired with an individual therapist in the community to ensure ongoing individual therapy once treatment has concluded at Dilworth Center.
